Purpose: We are seeking a talented Business/Healthcare Administration Intern who is an enthusiastic team player with a demonstrated work ethic and a strong curiosity about working in the fast-paced, ever changing Healthcare industry. The expected time commitment is 20 - 25 hours per week and supervision is provided by the CEO. This is a paid internship opportunity. Rate of pay is $15.00 per hour. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Gain first-hand experience in the day to day activities of a health care administrator Work directly with administration staff on research Develop an understanding of the functions at a health care facility/community agency Develop an ability to perceive relationships between theories learned in the classroom and practice experienced in the field Develop a capacity to analyze and make recommendations for the solutions of problems encountered in a health care administrative environment Apply systematic approaches to complex situations in an organization Apply leadership skills and project management theories learned in the classroom to a relevant comprehensive healthcare policy and procedure project Other Duties: All other duties as assigned by Department Manager Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in university The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook Demonstrated teamwork and project management skills Strong organization and time management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Preferred: Currently working towards MBA/MHA Hours: 20 hours per week, flexible on hours and days. Must work within M-F days and time frame of 8a-5p.
