Trucking company with over 45 years of specialized experience in hauling freight for the aerospace industry.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Dispatcher located in Sorrento Valley, San Diego, CA. The Dispatcher will be responsible for managing and coordinating the efficient dispatch of owner operator drivers and their equipment to various locations. This involves maintaining communication with drivers, tracking vehicle locations and reporting ETA's to customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and resolving any issues that arise during transit. The Dispatcher will also handle booking and scheduling loads with our customers, prepare necessary documentation, and collaborate with our logistics team to optimize routes and improve efficiency. Our fleet consists of open-deck Tractor-Trailer combinations (48'-53' Flatbed, Step deck, and Double Drop trailers) to service our customer base in the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will be a self motivator, pays strong attention to detail, has the ability to multitask and think outside of the box to be successful in a fast paced office environment. Salary is negotiable based on level of experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in logistics, dispatching, or a related field
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in using dispatch software and other relevant technology
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of US geography and traffic patterns
  • Understanding of Federal DOT trucking regulations
  • Customer service experience and skills
  • Prior experience dispatching OTR (over the road) interstate drivers is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of open deck trailer securement and over dimensional regulations is beneficial
